El 29 de abril se inauguró la nueva biblioteca en Lima De Abajo. Todo el pueblo acudió a este evento. Gema Marques estaba allí porque donó muchos de los libros de su biblioteca móvil. Vern Porter estuvo allí para representar a Rotary International y Jaltemba Bay. Sin embargo, la estrella del espectáculo fue María de Jesús Rodríguez. On April 29 the new library was dedicated at Lima De Abajo. The whole town turned out for this event. Gema Marques was there because she donated many of the books from her mobile library. Vern Porter was there to represent Jaltemba Bay rotary and Rotary international. However, the star of the show was Maria de Jesus Rodriguez. She was a teacher at the Lima de Abajo School for 52 years. The success of the school at Lima de Abajo has been her goal since 1952. You may watch her story on YouTube here

El lunes 6 de junio, el club rotario de Beverly Hills y los clubes rotarios de Jaltemba Bay fueron reconocidos formalmente por las contribuciones que hicieron posible el nuevo techo de metal sobre el área de juegos de la escuela primaria José María Morelos en Lima de Abajo. Vern Porter, Margo Flaherty y su esposo Tim representaron a Jaltemba Bay Rotary Estaban allí para cortar la cinta. Margo y Tim trabajan para Costa Canuva y han sido muy útiles en esta comunidad porque está muy cerca y muchos de los trabajadores viven en este pueblo.
On Monday June 6, the rotary club of Beverly Hills and Jaltemba Bay Rotary clubs were formally recognized the contributions making the awning over the elementary school, Jose Maria Morelos, in Lima de Abajo possible. Vern Porter, Margo Flaherty and her husband Tim represented Jaltemba Bay Rotary They were there to cut the ribbon. Margo and Tim both work for Costa Canuva and have been very helpful in this community because it is so close and many of the workers live in this village.
El Club Rotario de Beverly Hills y Jaltemba Bay Rotary tiene el honor de haber participado en traer la estructura de sombra a la escuela para los estudiantes y la comunidad de Lima De Abajo. Tuve el placer de visitar la escuela, disfrutar de un almuerzo con los rotarios locales y conocer al maravilloso cuerpo docente, al personal y especialmente a los niños. Tengo la esperanza de que nuestro Club (Beverly Hills Ca.) pueda trabajar juntos en más proyectos en el futuro.

The Rotary Club of Beverly Hills and Jaltemba Bay Rotary is honored to have participated in bringing the shade structure to the school for the students and the community in Jaltemba. I had the pleasure of visiting the school, enjoying lunch with local Rotarians and meeting the wonderful faculty, staff and especially the children. I am hopeful that our Club (Beverly Hills Ca.) will be able to work on more projects together in the future.

Lima De Abajo es un hermoso pueblo ubicado en el extremo norte de la Bahía de Jaltemba, cerca de Costa Canuva. El centro del pueblo está dominado por la iglesia, la escuela primaria al lado y la biblioteca al otro lado de la calle.
Lima De Abajo is a beautiful village located at the north end of Jaltemba Bay Near Costa Canuva. The village center is dominated by the church, the primary school next door, and the library across the street.
